Dragon eggs beach
About a third of the stones and boulders on Teriberka's beaches are egg-shaped,
which is why they have come to be known as 'dinosaur eggs' or 'dragoneggs'.
The egg shapes can be found in stones of different sizes and geological types.
They are the result of the powerful surf rolling the rocks over a hard base.
The nature of the Khibiny is a unique place for active tourism. Not only sportsmen
but amateur tourists are hiking and sometimes they are not ready to meet danger.
One of the most widespread reason of accidents is insufficient training and
indiscipline. Tourist should remember that mountains, woods and reservoirs have
serious threat for life and health, are not Neither lovers nor professionals
are insured from tragedy. Therefore it is highly unrecommended to go to campaign
uncontrolled and not preliminary having registered.
Kuzomen
Kuzomen is pomorsk village on the Varzuga river bank. the first mention is
dated from the end of XVI century. As a constant settlement Kusomen is mentioned
from the later half of XVII century.
The village is famous for Kuzomen Sands, which stitches for 13 kilometers
along the White seashore.
Wild horses were brought to Kuzomen from Yakutia
for a household in the middle of XX century.
Teriberka Nature Park
This is a specially protected natural area of regional significance created
in 2021 for the effective preservation and restoration of valuable, unique natural
and historical features and sites, as well as to maintain the ecological balance
of the territory, to develop the nature and educational tourism and environmental
education.
The Pasvik reserve was founded in 1992 with the cooperation of Russian and
Norwegian ecologists. The area of the reserve is only 14,7 hectares, with a
third of it being the water area of the river Paz and lakes through which it
passed. One of the goals of the reserve is protection and research of their
distribution.
Four kilometers from Rayakoski point Muotkavaara is situated. There three borders
connect together: Russian, Norwegian and Finnish.
A few kilometers from Zapolyarny there is The Kola Super deep Well. It is the
deepest borehole in the world. Its depth is 12,262 m.
Now Pechenga municipality district includes city settlements Zapolyarny, Nickel,
Pechenga and rural settlement Korzunovo. There are about 45, 3 thousands inhabitants
of Pechenga district. |
