Otto-Fricke Hospital
The Otto-Fricke Hospital, a centre for geriatrics and orthopaedics
located in Wiesbaden and in Bad Schwalbach, is the
second oldest Hessian specialist hospital for geriatrics and
focuses on the acute medical treatment of diseases which
are frequently attributable to high age, for example, the consequences
of stroke or age-related heart and circulatory
diseases. Emphasis is laid on diagnostics and the treatment
of neurologically induced language, speech and swallowing
disorders, as well as diagnostics and consulting in relation to
suspected Alzheimer diseases. In the Bad Schwalbach clinic,
there is a separate area with special patient amenities, as
well as an area for patients with severe cognitive impairments
who are in need of acute medical care.
The hospital looks after and treats the patients already in the
acute phase of a disease and complies with all the performance
characteristics and medical standards required nowadays
in geriatrics and orthopaedics. The Wiesbaden clinic of
the Otto-Fricke Hospital is situated on the premises of the
HSK, Wilhelm Fresenius Klinik, since February 2011. Patients
will benefit from the immediate connection to a large hospital
and at the same time the Otto Fricke Hospital will provide
a central contribution to the optimal geriatric care for
patients from Wiesbaden and the Rheingau-Taunus district.
The hospital’s offer in cludes a fully inpatient bed area as well
as a geriatric outpatient clinic, a memory clinic, an outpatient
department for language and speech disorders as well as
offers in the field of inpatient and partly inpatient care of the
elderly.
Admission by all independent physicians or direct transfer from primary care
hospitals. Accredited for all statutory and private health insurances; a total
of 141 fully inpatient beds, thereof 28 beds at the Wiesbaden clinic; 6 partly
inpatient beds. There is a shuttle service for patients of the outpatient day
clinic.
