Arabian cold weapons

Edged weapons from Arabia were an amalgamation of aesthetic and functionality. Swords and (Khanajir) Daggers were decorative and ornamental objects that reflected the importance and status of an individual within the community, in addition to that, they were weapons that are meant to deal deadly blow and injuries. The superior quality of craftsmanship made Arabian swords highly sought after.

Locally, Men brandished swords called katara. The blades were made of steel and varied in lengths from different models. In addition to the previously aforementioned, Most men also owned a Khanjar, which is a curved dagger. The Khanjar were worn as an everyday attire, to reflect reputation and character of its wielder. Sheaths were typically made of wood and decorated with leather and metal, such as silver. Each sheath was specifically made to fit its sword or dagger.
