Frescoes of Ferapontov Monastery

Ferapontov Monastery Is located 120 km about 71 miles northwest of Vologda. The interior of the monastery Cathedral features a cycle of frescoes by the master icon painter Dlonisius. The frescoes celebrated the 500-yeat anniversary in 2002; tills Is Russia's only fresco cycle preserved completer untouched from the date of it creation. The entire architectural site of Ferapontov Monastery is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
