Avtovo

Ceiling structures of the “Avtovo” underground station hall have been renovated since October 2010. The work is carried out without closing of the station thanks to the specially developed stage by stage ceiling reconstruction technique. This method was developed by AzhioProekt, a member of the St. Petersburg Union of Restorers. Restorers were invited to join the repairs not accidentally. The “Avtovo” station hall has the status of an identified cultural heritage property. Although the underground is unthinkable without constant technical renovation, the historic look of the pavilions of the station should remain unchanged. The St. Petersburg Committee on State Control, Use and Protection of Historical and Cultural Landmarks (KGIOP) sees to it and is very strict about it.
