Rostov Region is the land of the great historical potential with its customs and traditions of the nations of Don Land. Cossacks and other nations formed the unique culture and folklore. Rostov Region is the cultural center of South Russian Region. 7 professional theatres – Drama Gorky Theatre, Rostov State Musical Theatre, Rostov regional Youth Theatre, Rostov State Puppet Show Theatre, Taganrog Tchekhov’s Drama Theatre, Don Thatre of Drama and Comedy in Novotcherkassk, Shakhty Drama and Comedy Thatre “Plast” is the major part of the daily cultural life of the Rostov Region.

Rostov Zoo is the 2nd biggest Zoo in Russia and famous all over the world . Regional Philharmonic Society , Circus, Race Course, Botanic garden are the pride of Rostov City . There are over 1300 cultural clubs, 1190 libraries, more than 30 museums, 27 parks, modern cinemas in Rostov Region.

Don Land is known for its international festivals and scientific conferences, master classes, work shops. Youth Theatre Festival “Minifest”, Tchekhovs’ Drama Festivals in Taganrog , “Sholokhov’s Spring” Festival ,famous Youth festivals “Vdohnovenije” and “Don Big Prize” are being held in Rostov Region and became a tradition.
