Neolithic period
(New stone age, the VII - IV millennium BC)
In the Neolithic Period forests and steppes spread in the Minusinsk basin.
Mammoths, woolly rhinos and other ancient mammals died out forever. The population
were occupied with hunting and fishing. People hunted deer, bears, elks and
were very skillful at shooting birds with bows and arrowheads. They used polished-stone
tools by grinding and polishing of fine-grained rock or flint.
The human believed that the representation of deer, bears and elks on rocks
ensured success in hunting and rebirth of animals after death.
