Khachmaz

The most well-known recreation zone of Azerbaijan, Nabran, is located in this exotic area. Annually the temperate climate and picturesque coast of the Caspian Sea attract here thousands of bakuvites (inhabitants of Baku) and visitors of republic. There, on the border of emerald woods and gold beaches the set of camp-sites, boarding houses, rest houses have been constructed, where all conditions for active and comfortable rest are provided.

Tourists, having a rest there, can successfully hunt and fish. Tourists with skilled guides go deep into woods, where 8 medium-size rivers and tens of streamlets flow, among which sources of thermal and mineral waters are very popular. Picnic on the coast of such streamlet always turns around a holiday. You can collect perfect fruits and runaways of a dogrose, St.-John's -wort, balms, to swim in artificial lakes, to visit the Gulalan reserve. Solid stocks of drinking water, one of the best in the Caucasus, are concentrated in this region. The well-known Shollar water-pipe since 1917 provides Baku with drinking water. There are several such burial places in the district, surrounded by a plenty of ancient tombstones. Front parts of monuments are covered with a carved ornament. At the top of the mountain Galadag the ruins of fortress Gaurgala have been kept.

The art of carpet-weaving in area is raised to the rank of the academic culture, in local lyceum there is a faculty of carpet his-tory, the specialists of which carefully generalize the experience and traditions of their ancestors' skills, learn the secrets of weav-ing of the ancient masterpieces, their painting and restoration.

The network of restaurants is extended along highways and the sea coast, in each of them it is possible to have a delicious and cheap dinner. Besides, there are places of the highest class ’ designed for high solvency of the clients.
