Established on 1053, Ghardaia is the biggest city of the Pentapolis; this area
has a pyramidal form attached to a strong mound. In its head there is the central
mosque with its typical minaret; the alleys there are circular or radial which
hug the habitations built one near the other; the successive fortifications
which have surrounded the city in different eras.
