El Oued is the city of the SOUF and the center of an amazing region located
in the middle of the big oriental desert. This place, located between EL Oued
Ghri &Tunisia has been smitten by the obstinacy of the population who were
looking for the water under the sand some time they reach 20 meters of deepness,
there the men has created an special technical which will make the establishment
of the palm-trees possible unless without irrigation: in the deep of a dig craters
on the sand when the diameter must reach many meters; they plant a palm-trees
in that way the roots are planted directly on water... After the market place
and its craftsmen, we can have a look to the old city with its typical houses
with their small windows; this is the picture painted by all the Oued Souf's
guests: Orientalists; poets, dealers, traffickers or a simple visitors.
