The HSK, a hospital offering maximal care, is a highly modern medical centre which harmoniously combines high-tech and holistic care for patients. HSK offers all important fields and disposes of 1027 beds. As academic teaching hospital of the medical faculty of the Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz, as well as a nationwide training institution for health professions, HSK enjoys an outstanding reputation in the Rhein- Main region and beyond.

Qualified doctors and competent therapeutic care teams attend to and look after the patients according to the latest knowledge of medicine and care. HSK is a certified Breast Centre, a recognized Perinatal Centre (Obstetrics and Prenatal Medicine Clinic) and Oncological Focal Point (OSP) with Consulting Service, Tumour conferences and close co-operation with amongst others the Psycho-Oncological Service.

In the clinical centre, furthermore, reside a social paediatric centre as well as the practice community for Radiological Diagnostics, part of the Radiological Joint Practice, Wiesbaden, which serves not only the Municipal Clinical Centre Wiesbaden but also the St. Josefs-Hospital and performs a compulsory health insurance supply mandate, as well.

Further, as special facilities, two left-heart catheter measuring positions, the dialysis ward, as well as large scale equipment like MRI (Magnet Resonance Imaging), CT (Computer Tomography) and Lithotripter are to be men tioned. A multitude of other areas cares for the wellbeing of all patients. Networking and cooperation with resident doctors, care institutions, self help groups, other hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, and nursing homes are realized to a high degree. Due to cooperation with the HSK Care Service, the resident doctors, outpatient services, and self-help groups provide smooth care after discharge. The cancer registry documents all treatment and contributes to quality security. Supporting services, like social service, the spiritual guidance counsellors and staff of service departments as well as volunteers guaranty a holistic care of patients.

On 1.1.2000 HSK acquired the Wilhelm Fresenius Clinic and thus built up a second post in Wiesbaden. With approx. 150 additional beds a more widespread medical and care supply is offered. The ophthalmology clinic, the dermatology and allergology clinic are located here as well. In case a planned operative intervention is required, conservative operative methods are available at MITC, Minimal Invasive Therapy Center, at HSK-Aukammallee, Wilhelm Fresenius Klinik. Thus operations of various specialty areas are able to be per formed with a minimum of stress and risk for patients of all age groups.
